I printed and respect prints text pages between this printer HP P1006 Laser and HP inkjet (DeskJet) D4360. The jet printing ink darker than ordinary letters, but it is too dark, bold. Laser printing of good fats, but little light on the letters regularly. The laser has a better form of letters. Laser printing of the text makes it a little 'harder to read, especially for elderly people with blurred vision. But inkjet poorest form of letters which makes it a bit 'difficult to read. I saw the text transcripts Laser Printer larger and more accessible, which is much better than my inkjet printer in every way. This laser HP does not have this enormous superiority. A laser printer is easier to read an overview of the IJ, especially if you print some statements in bold. Then the laser is slightly better than the quality of ink jet printing.

I bought this printer for use at home after the loss of my HP Deskjet 6980 with a serious jam. I do not need color printing, so I opted for a basic laser printer for speed and quality. I am very happy with the small size of this printer (it suits my night stand) and fast printing! … Once it warms up. It is one minute warm up at that time my Macbook running really slow. The print quality is great. I had read some reviews that the P1006 had problems printing from a Mac version of Microsoft Office, but I have the documents of MS Word for Mac (Version 2008) printed and had no problems. Perhaps it was an old driver problem is now resolved.
I was a little 'irritated when I have not found a manual in the box. I suspect that they are cutting costs, while they are environmentally friendly. Fortunately, HP has the manual online here:

Toner for this printer costs just under $ 70 retail, than I expected. Overall very satisfied and would recommend this printer to others.

I know that this study will be buried, but I hope it shows. What no one tells you about this printer is that the three color cartridges ALWAYS go blank all at the same time, regardless of what you actually spent. So expect a stretch of three hundred dollars, plus a premium at times. It seems that some page numbers or something, rather than actually use, because you are unable to accept, as you know are not empty. Spending almost all the colors at all, but are still empty and this printer turns out to be extremely expensive because of it - a real rip off of the Brother.

This includes a starter toner cartridge, which means that on average, considerably less than 1500 pages. I've had since November 2007 and are still the cartridge before starting. I am a college student, so believe me when I say that I have a lot of press - essays, articles, is the name. So far, I estimate that I printed ~ 500 pages and the ink is stronger.
Please remember this before you criticize this product so hard!
