This printer is replaced by a Brother HL2040. Toner gives prints a lot less, but there is no drum to replace. Brother would make 2000 the print cartridge on a $ 50, while the HP 1500 offers prints for $ 55 a cartridge. Take the cost of a drum and 5 cartridges to print 10,000 the brother and the price is similar. HP costs about 3.6 cents per page to operate and costs 3.5 cents based on my experience Brother. HP and the jam is much less clear and clearer. Go to HP every time.

For those who complain about 1500 pages is a small charge or a $ 100 printer is running slower than a $ 1000 printer, I would work with several printers on the low side to make comparisons. This is a unit of good. I will buy more for office. Each workstation now about 10,000 pages printed each year.

I have this printer a couple of weeks, so I can not comment on the consumption of ink or relability long term, but I can say it perfectly. The wireless setup was easy and the print quality is great. I recommend a premium laser paper as the text and grapics looks brighter and sharper. This does not print photos, as well as a photo printer, but no matter. If you want the text and excellent graphics at a great price, go for this printer.

E 'advertised as Mac compatible. Is not. Worked old PowerBook G4 with a heavy heart, but hard to work with the new Intel Macs. The HP support people were reasonably react, but at various points suggested the problem was with Microsoft, or Mac OS, or, o. . anyone other than HP. Bottom trawlers, but the discussion groups and find dozens of complaints from Mac users desperate. There are also several possible errors, some of whom work at times, the best of them requires a fairly sophisticated knowledge of programming. At this point it's poor management thoughts, calculate how long it beenw asted, and find the cheapest laser printer.

The printer works via USB, print decent-do what I know only a couple of things, but found that it does not work with the print server, regardless of the driver. only works with USB, so do not waste your money if you hope that the network via a print server. Ugh
